Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen, an underlying cause of facial aging. Results can last between 2-3 years. Sculptra is different from regular fillers that consist of liquid or gel substances, like hyaluronic acid, bovine or poricine collage, which work by filling in the lines of the skin. Sculptra Aesthetic is a (extra space here – delete it) poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, which is used to diminish facial wrinkles and furrows by helping to restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin. It works with your body within the deep dermis to help your body regenerate collagen production to build supportive collagen as “filler” in areas requiring facial volume and restoration and support.

Sculptra is injected in two planes: directly on top of bone to restore areas of bony loss (such as in the temples, jawline, cheeks, or near the nose) or in the fat (cheeks, chin, marionette lines) to mimic areas of loss that occur with aging

Sculptra is designed to work gradually over a series of an average of 3 injections over the course of 3-4 months. It’s used to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds; as well as used for a “liquid face lift”. Periodic maintenance treatment is recommended to sustain the treatment outcome.
