Atopic Dermatitis, commonly known as Eczema, is a very common skin condition. Children are more frequently affected by eczema. One in five infants are affected compared to one in fifty adults. Studies state that eczema is due to “leakiness” of the skin barrier. Environmental factors can also cause skin to dry out and become prone to irritation and inflammation. A person’s symptoms can worsen if they have food sensitivity such as an allergy to eggs or dairy.
